Jade Promotions, the country’s largest provider of home, garden and lifestyle events is gearing up for the Hawke’s Bay Better Home & Living Show being held at Pettigrew Arena, Taradale, in just ten days.

Show organisers have hand- picked 100 exhibitors that will be showcasing eco-friendly products & wares especially for visitors interested in improving the health and wellbeing of their family through better housing, sustainable living, better food and transport.

The show, trialled and launched three years ago, in the home town of Jade Promotions is the brainchild of co-owner Daniel Joll.

“It has proved so popular, that this year we are hosting the show over three days now including Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May 2012. It has four distinct sections Better Homes, Better Gardens, Better Bodies and now a brand new section Better Transport.”

“We are really excited about Hawkes Bay businesses getting behind us this year and we provide an economic boost to the region by employing locals prior, during and after the show.”

It follows hot on the heels of a very successful launch of the same show in Wellington where we filled the Westpac Stadium and more than 10,700 people flooded through the doors.”

“We realise that Hawke’s Bay numbers will be smaller reflecting the region but latest figures show despite economic downturn home-owners are still surging ahead with either renovating or building and local people take pride in their gardens and bodies so this show is tipped to please garden enthusiasts and people looking for healthier lifestyles,” he said.

This year Havelock North based qualified landscape architect and successful author Janet Luke will wow garden lovers with an amazing display on offer which is all about green urban living.

Ever heard of a gutter garden, upside down bucket garden or a vertical wall garden, not to mention a top bar beehive?

Whether you have acres to spread out on or just a small patio area there is something for everyone at this show and Janet will showcase Japanese quail in a moveable hutch, these birds lay an egg-a-day and are great for a balcony when there is just no room for chooks.

Have you thought about a home-made hydroponic unit to grow fresh greens without soil or an urban compost maker, easy to turn and compost is ready in just four weeks? What about an Aquaponic system where you link your fish tank to a system to grow healthy greens and all you need to do is feed your fish?

Janet is full of inspirational ideas even for the novice gardener.

Hawke’s Bay Placemakers is installing inspirational kitchen and bathroom ideas at affordable prices.

Often kitchen and bathroom renovations can be an expensive exercise, but the team at Placemakers say it doesn’t have to be and there are products with water and energy ratings with the star standards required that can help save costs.

The Car Company, will be showcasing New Zealand’s most 100% petrol dedicated fuel efficient car. The latest Kia Picanto utilises cutting edge technology by using ISG (idle stop go). This car was recently launched onto the market here and is winning many accolades globally.

Free daily seminars include information on solar heating, growing greener gardens, what you must know before making a decision about insulating your home and understanding and identifying food intolerances and allergies. These daily seminars are designed to inform visitors how to make healthier choices to their home & lifestyle.

Show organisers are hoping for more than 7,000 people to come through the doors at Pettigrew Arena and one lucky visitor has the chance to win a $4,000 heat installation package courtesy of Coldrite, just by attending the show and entering the door prize at one of the computer terminals .

Better Home & Living Show, Pettigrew Green Arena, Taradale

Show Hours 10am-5pm Friday 25th, Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th May 2012

Seniors Special Friday only $3.00, Entry only $6.00, 16 years and under free.

More than 10,000 people are expected to visit the first ever Wellington Better Home and Living show which has been launched in the capital this morning as the gates to Westpac Stadium opened revealing a plethora of exhibitors with wares on show.

It’s tipped to be New Zealand’s largest ever Eco-Show providing Wellingtonians with action packed ideas on sustainable homes, inspirational kitchens and gardens, expert tips on how to grow greener gardens, energy efficient transport options, natural interior designed products, through to savouring organic food and drinks.

The idea to put on a show like this is no mean feat and was the brainchild of Jade Promotions Co-Owner and Show Director Daniel Joll.

The show will provide an economic boost to the region with staff and security being employed locally to support the show.

“We are excited as more than 150 exhibitors are showcasing the latest environmentally friendly products required for building a better home and lifestyle. The show features dedicated sections including Better Homes, Better Gardens, Better Bodies and Better Transport. There will something for everyone young and old at this show,” he said.

Free Daily seminars are on offer on household resiliency, sustainable building, making solar easy, sustainable kitchens designed for life, and nutrition uncovered, ten things you need to know.

As well as this one lucky visitor to the show will win more than $12,500 worth of prizes at the Show. This includes heating products and a couple’s annual gym membership to support the “Better Bodies” theme.

“The nations love affair with their homes has not subsided and latest real estate institute figures showing a surging in the housing market in some parts of the capital support what we see with people wanting to renovate or build homes. We have hand- picked exhibitors who have an empathy with Wellington’s landscape in mind,” said Mr Joll.

The idea to build a sustainable future means there is something for everyone’s taste, style and budget at this show which will be fun for the whole family. Entry is only $8.00, senior citizens $5.00 today only.

Jade Promotions also congratulates the winner of Wellington’s coldest house promotion announced this morning in the lead up to today’s launch of Wellington’s Better Home & Living Show

Island Bay home owner Paula Sharpe-Ete got the surprise of her life when the Classic Hits radio team complete with HRV, Airfoam and Northern Construction representatives turned up at her house this morning to announce that she was the winner of Wellington’s coldest home promotion.

Jade Promotions partnered with HRV, Airfoam and Northern Construction in the lead up to Wellington’s Better Home and Living Show to find the coldest home in the capital and to give one lucky family this winter a chance to be warm with a Heat pump, home insulation and home ventilation package, worth thousands of dollars.

Four families were shortlisted this week after HRV’s Matthew Rangiwahia used a special thermometer to record temperatures inside homes in Island Bay, Porirua and Wainuiomata.

Paula Sharpe-Ete’s house was noted to be well below World Health Organisation standards with mould, mildew, draughts coming from windows and a big build-up of condensation with virtually no heat in the house whatsoever.

Jade Promotions has more than 20 years of proven experience in successful event management and is the largest provider of Home, Garden and Lifestyle events with 10 annual shows nationwide.

Opening hours for Wellington’s Better Home & Living Show is Fri 27th & Sat 28th 10am-6pm & Sun 29th 10am – 5pm, all under one roof at Westpac Stadium

The record crowds at the recent Taupo Home & Garden Show goes in line with latest Real Estate Institute figures confirming that the housing market in many parts of the country is surging again.

Jade Promotions, the country’s largest provider of home and garden shows is delighted with the response from Taupo which had 8,100 genuine shoppers come through the venue at the Great Lake Centre on the 13th,14th & 15th April.

Show Organiser Daniel Joll says visitor numbers were up by 400 year on year for Taupo and this strong result follows on from the record start of the home show season being recorded with the first show on Auckland’s North Shore.

“Our longest running Show in Auckland is the North Shore Home & Garden Show and we attracted 13,000 visitors through the doors in March. To get 8,100 visitors in Taupo a smaller populated region is certainly no mean feat and just goes to show the dedication from Taupo home-owners.”

It’s important that the customer experience whether they be visitors or exhibitors to the show is a good one and judging by the comment from Emma Hague from the NZ Bed Company the Taupo Show has been a positive experience.

Emma said that the NZ Bed Company had not been at Taupo for the past six years and that this Show had been their best show ever with strong sales. With those great results she said they would be back to exhibit in Taupo in 2013.

The visitor experience was equally good, especially so for Taupo’s Andrea Haycock who walked away with one of the show prizes courtesy of Danske Mobler.

Mrs Haycock won a Tempur® ‘Cloud’ mattress & base worth nearly $5,000 and her response was “Wow-that’s fantastic – I’ve never won anything and we need a new bed!”

The nations’ love affair with home and garden alterations and the great weather in Taupo brought people out in their droves to enjoy what was on at the show and to walk away with lots of new ideas not to mention bargains for their home & gardens.

The unique Maze Landscapes DIY Showdown with More FM saw a plethora of participants pitch their skills against the clock with everyone who took part going into the draw to win the grand prize provided by Maze Landscapes, Smith & Sons, Placemakers and 93.6 MORE FM valued at $5000!

Greg Nicks clinched this fantastic prize and every participant in the Kid’s Hammer competition walk away with a spot prize from Paetiki Supervalue.

The Show was set up to inspire, inform and leave homeowners brimming with ideas on what is possible and what they can do with confidence in their own homes and this years’ Taupo Home & Garden Show did exactly that said Mr Joll.

A record number of exhibitors are expected to converge on Westpac Stadium in four weeks for the capital’s first ever Better Home and Living Show being held 27th -29th April.

It’s tipped to be New Zealand’s largest ever Eco-Show providing Wellingtonians with action packed ideas on sustainable homes, inspirational kitchens and floorings, expert tips on how to grow greener gardens, energy efficient transport options, natural interior designed products, through to savouring organic food and drinks.

The idea to put on a show like this is no mean feat and was the brainchild of Jade Promotions Co-Owner and Show Director Daniel Joll.

“So far more than 170 exhibitors will be showcasing the latest environmentally friendly products required for building a better home and lifestyle. The show features dedicated sections including Better Homes, Better Gardens, Better Bodies and Better Transport. There will something for everyone young and old at this show,” he said.

As part of the build-up to the show Jade Promotions has partnered with Classic Hits radio station and the hunt is on to find Wellington’s coldest home. One lucky family could win themselves a Heat pump, Home insulation and a Home ventilation system, just in time for winter.

The two week on air promotion kicks off on the 16th April.

Thermometers will be taken into local homes to record the temperature inside and out. Based on these results the winning family who are deemed to be living in Wellington’s coldest house will be announced at the opening of the Better Home & Living Show on Friday 27th April.

As well as this one lucky visitor will win more than $12,500 worth of prizes at the Show. This includes heating products and a couple’s annual gym membership to support the “Better Bodies” theme.

The idea to build a sustainable future means there is something for everyone’s taste, style and budget at this show which will be fun for the whole family.
